We have been having some definite spring-summer transition weather here in St. Louis. Between the 90-degree days and mind-bottling thunderstorms, our last week has been up and down. We really enjoy the thunderstorms though. I have not heard thunder like this since I lived in Houston, TX. I am currently doing research for the medical school and decided to put up a picture of where I do my biznis. In this first picture, you will find a tall, modern-looking building; it is the Doisy Research Center where I have a weekly meeting to hear presentations on current events in other areas of research. The second picture is a view from the Doisy Research Center back toward the medical school where my lab is located. The dark brown brick building with the copper top is Schwitalla Hall where the lab is. The other twin copper top across the street is the medical center. Apart from the brown areas of grass, the campus really is gorgeous. They do a great job at keeping it up here.
Last Friday, Holly and I went to Forrest Park's Shakespeare in the Park. It is a free Shakespearean production during the summer. People go with blankets and lawn chairs and watch actors portray various plays. We went to the Taming of the Shrew, and it was great! The dialogue was somewhat adapted to modern language for a comical twist, but for the most part , it was true to the original. The play itself was changed to be in a 1970s setting which made it all the more entertaining.
Apparently, summer is coming. We got a new AC unit in our room in preparation. Apparently, it can get worse. Stay tuned for more! I'm impressed that this post came within one month of the last one. Kudos to me!
